I believe that land is the most important element and that we must gear our policies and our actions to benefit and conserve land. Currently, I am a PhD student in urban planning interested in food production in rural areas. My research focuses on knowledge production and local knowledge in particular and the role of planning in agricultural knowledge networks. I am also interested in the present food sovereignty movement and its potential to catalyze change in urban settings, through shifts in labor markets, and reversing environmental challenges of urbanization. In addition to research, I plan to teach sustainable agriculture from a theoretical and practical point of view. In my spare time, I am an urban farmer and beekeeper.
